From Pedro Casillas, Grosvenor Square Speakers
It is with much sadness that today I have heard that Philip Smee, the longest serving Toastmaster at Grosvenor Square Speakers - 30 years, passed away on Christmas Day.
Philip has been an inspiration to me and all members of GSS over the years. Always on hand to offer words of advice; always a ready smile and an apt quip - Philip provided a support and comfort which are difficult to capture in words.
A master Toastmaster; superb Table Topics speaker and astute Evaluator. Each time Philip got up to speak, was like a mini master class in the art of Public Speaking.
I am sure that everyone who knew Philip will join me in thanking Philip for all the help and support he gave us - he will be sadly missed.
