Gosh, a busy morning for me - my third article today! So much going on in the world of the London Toastmaster!
I have just had word from Dave Sellman, Governor of Area 6, about an exciting new Toastmasters Club for Polish speaking people in London. I will let him explain:
Do you speak Polish or do you know anyone who speaks Polish? If so, you’ll be delighted to know that Gosia Gorna, the Immediate Past President of London Corinthinans, has organised a show meeting for a new Polish-speaking Toastmasters Club on Saturday 27th October. Guests are coming from Poland and Germany and invitations have gone to 100s of Polish professionals in London so a strong turnout is expected.
There is already a Polish speaking Toastmasters club in Warsaw which is providing a lot of support and Gosia is confident that the time is right to start one in London. The meeting will be held at 3pm at the Westminster Thistle Hotel. If you can help or want to know more, contact Gosia on [email protected]. In particular, more Polish speaking Toastmasters are needed to take on key roles and should make themselves known to Gosia as soon as possible.
The full meeting address is:
The Thistle Westminster, 49 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 0QT
A map is here:
The entrance is on the corner of Buckingham Palace Road and Bressenden Place. Don't confuse it with the Thistle Victoria!
For those who don't know, Gosia did a fabulous job as President of London Corinthians last year. She will be a great person to lead this new initiative. Please spread the word to every Polish speaker you know!
(Update - Kim has just suggested I put a link to another map as this one does not show Buckingham Palace Road on it. Here is a Streetmap link. Note the entrance is on the corner with Bressenden Place, not Allington Street as suggested on the map.)
