Following Broadgate Speakers successful trip to Speakers Corner in August, Kim Horner, President of London Corinthians, and Dorothea Stuart, Area 29 Governor, are arranging a joint expedition for Toastmasters to Speakers Corner in 2 weeks time. Amongst the dignitaries will be both Jonathan Palmer and Andrew Klimaytys, our 2007 Humorous Speech and Table Topics winners. Promises to be yet another great day. Hopefully, see you there...
Sunday 4th November 2007 – 1:45pm for 2:00pm to 3:00pm – Practise public speaking at Speakers Corner, Hyde Park and give support to our fantastic Division B winners!
Speakers Corner is the only place in the United Kingdom where 100% free speech is permitted each Sunday.
Join us on Sunday 4th November from 1:45pm to 3:00pm to practise public speaking in front of a very different audience; one that’s sprinkled with hecklers! And listen to and support the winners of the Division B (ie all London) Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contests, Jonathon Palmer (London Corinthians) and Andrew Klimaytys (Riverside Communicators), respectively.
Agenda will be:
- Table Topics from volunteers – you perhaps?
- Firing Table Topics at Andrew Klimaytys, Division B Table Topics Champion
- Listening to Jonathon Palmer, Division B Humorous Speech Champion
- Wrap up and feedback for Our Boys
After this, feel free to get feedback for yourself and give valuable feedback to Our Division B Boys (Jonathon and Andrew will be competing at the UK and Ireland finals, held during the District 71 conference (Friday 9th to Sunday 11th November 2007), in Harrogate).
Then relax and chill with the rest of your Toastmasters’ pals. The session is an ideal way to make new friends, find out about other Toastmasters’ clubs from across London and have fun! And, crucially, to give you and Our Boys an opportunity to practise and control nerves in a strange environment! Because if you can take on the challenge of speaking at Speakers Corner, you can speak anywhere!
Date and time: Sun 4th Nov 2007, 1:45pm for 2:00pm prompt start. Ends 3:00pm
Venue: Speakers Corner, north east corner of Hyde Park. Look out for the yellow London Corinthians and Riverside Communicators’ banners. Nearest tube is Marble Arch.

Functionaries required: Two Timekeepers, Toastmaster and Table Topics Master (all volunteers welcome!)
Numbers are unlimited and no need to book unless you would like to take on a role. Contact Kim Horner, President, London Corinthians or Dorothea Stuart, Area 29 Governor, for further information.
