Area 33 Humorous Speech/Table Topics Contest Report

Ian Halliday Area 33 put on a great show with a mix of experienced Toastmasters plus members of Careerbuilder Speakers competing in their first area contest.

The four clubs represented were Broadgate Speakers in the City, Careerbuilder Speakers, London Communicators and Northern Lights. The evening was opened by Area 33 Governor Hilary Briggs and the contests expertly chaired by Carlos Johnson.

Ian Halliday (Broadgate Speakers) won the 2008 Area 33 Humorous Speech contest with Julie Holness (London Communicators ) in second place. Ian stormed on to win the 2008 Area 33 Table Topics contest with Jilly Shaul (London Communicators) in second place. We were treated to a wide variety of subject matter put across with great style in both contests. Thank you to everyone involved.

Thank you also to London Communicators for being such good hosts.  The room at the Hilton London Islington was ideal and the view across the London skyline  terrific!

Remember Area 6 holds its contests tomorrow Monday 13th October at London Cardinals in Victoria. Area 34's contests are on Tuesday 14th October at Holborn Speakers. More details here.
