Women in Banking & Finance Speakers club is a Toastmasters Club for Women in Banking & Finance.

It  provides a "safe" and supportive environment to empower members to:

• Think and speak on their feet through impromptu speaking
• Prepare and deliver effective presentations
• Provide constructive and structured feedback
• Successfully lead and energise meetings
• Network

We meet on alternate Wednesdays at 17.45 for an 18.00 start at Credit Suisse, One Cabot Square, Canary Wharf.  We are delighted to welcome guests to any meeting, particularly on our New Members Evening.  For security reason please Contact Us in Advance at info@wibfspeaker.org.uk to arrange your visit.

MPL! Toastmasters - Relaunch

MLP! club President Susan Hawkins CC and her keen committee are formally relaunching their club.  They are actively building the club membership with the help of two experienced club mentors.

The club would love help from other experienced Toastmasters. Could you visit and take on a role? Particularly as an evaluator to help MLP! have high quality meetings and to provide role models for new members.

MLP! will be holding skill building sessions in the New Year starting with Speech Evaluation in January 2009.

Venue: MLP! meets close to London Bridge station and Tower Bridge, in the elegant surroundings of 1, More London Place, SE1 2AF.

Meeting Dates: First and third Tuesday of the month.

Time: 18.15 for 18.30 start.  Meetings end at approximately 19.30.  Drinks and nibbles provided!

Workshop this Monday 8th December 2008

On Monday 8th December Alan Thomas, Grosvenor Square Speakers is leading a workshop which is the final step to achieving his Advanced Communicator Gold award.

If you've ever attended a meeting which you thought could have been run better...this is workshop for you.  Running effective meetings at work, at Toastmasters or elsewhere involves a number of skills.  Alan will guide us through the module on Running Meeting from the Success/Leadership programme.  Not only will you learn and have a chance to practice...you will also get a certificate!

To achieve the Advanced Toastmaster Gold you will complete a minimum of forty speeches - ten from the Competent Communicator Manual and five speeches from six Advanced Manuals.  And mastering the skills from the Advanced Manuals may mean that you repeat projects to get the most out of the experience.  In addition for Advanced Communicator Silver two educational speeches are required and for Gold a module from the Success/Communication or Success/Leadership programmes. 

On Monday, Alan, a long-standing member of Grosvenor Square Speakers will achieve the highest communication award in Toastmasters.  Please come and support him and take what you learn into future meetings.

Toastmasters Educational Awards November 2008

Ten more educational awards have been achieved by London Division B Toastmasters this month. 

Congratulations to our new CCs and CLs. We look forward to hearing our competent communicators make their first speech from an advanced manual in the near future!  We also hope we'll see our new competent leaders making educational speeches and taking the next steps on the leadership programme. 

Congratulations to Jason Peck and Gilly Cutts for their advanced awards.  If you decide to attend the Speech Masterclass this coming Saturday afternoon 6 December (see post below) you can hear Jason giving his next speech.
