Why do you need to have a Divisional Council for London you may rightly ask? The clubs can run themselves with material straight from Toastmaster International.
The Divisional Council helps co-ordinate activity between clubs and areas around London. We help in a number of ways including:
- Creating cross club events, e.g. the speech contests being organised by your Area Governors.
- Organising training workshops: more are planned this year than ever. Speak to Liz Hobbs (Liz.Hobbs@MetonetRail.com) if you would like to learn how to put on a seminar or help.
- Helping set up new clubs – if you have an idea for a club, just speak to your Area Governor or any one of us.
- Running the club officer training twice a year. If you feel you are an expert in your area, have a chat with Division B Governor Andy O’Sulivan (andykosullivan@googlemail.com) and you could be on the programme.
- Developing some Public Relations for Toastmasters so that more guests are likely to come to your clubs. If you have an idea for an unusual event that could obtain media interest, have a word with Christopher Hall (Hall_Clan@mac.com)

New Editor
From Andy O’Sullivan
I am delighted to announce that Robert Carmichael has now taken over Editor of The London Speaker.
Robert is the Immediate Past President of Northern Lights and also the Assistant Area 47 Governor.
Robert is keen for The London Speaker to be the one stop resource for all Toastmasters in London, containing all the latest information on events, contests, and club resources. So if you are organising an event, or know of one that would be of interest to the Toastmasters community let Robert know so the details can be posted on The London Speaker.
Please send all your news & pictures to Robert at robert.carmichael@gmail.com
Keep an eye out for some exciting plans that Robert has for making The London Speaker even better!
