Area 34 International Speech and Evaluation Contest Results

Results hot off the press! We had a great evening of contests, hosted by Tube Talk, with participating club champions from: Bloomsbury Speakers, City of London Toastmasters, Holborn Speakers, LBS Public Speaking Club, Tube Talk and Woodford Green Speakers. The contests were expertly chaired by Andy O'Sullivan with the judging team coordinated by Chief Judge Dick Dixon.  A big thank you to everyone involved for giving us a splendid evening: fun and thought provoking speeches and excellent evaluations for our mystery speaker.

Area 47 International Speech and Evaluation Contest Results

What a fantastic Area 47 contest we had last on Tuesday. The contestants did themselves proud and gave us their all. 

The judges had a tricky task on their hands to pick the winners! That said, Chief Judge Jessie Macneil-Brown and her team were up to the challenge and the results are:

The evening was hosted by Excalibur Speakers (London's Advanced Speaking Club) with David Adams and Simon Cooper as our accomplished contest chairs.  A huge thank you to Excalibur, all our contestants, the judging team and functionaries.

Area 45 International Speech - a contest with a difference!

President Ash Sethi and Grosvenor Square Speakers were the kind hosts of the Area 45 International Speech Contest at the Cumberland Hotel on 26 March 2012. It was great to come home to the Mother club of all London Toastmaster Clubs.

Not only did Area 45 Toastmasters enjoy a contest of the highest standard Chaired by Toastmaster Jill Segal, with Toastmaster Paul Caroll as our splendid Chief Judge, they all also participated in an 'Unlocking Creativity'  Workshop led by Past Area Governor David Adams. 

After a tightly fought contest between the three participating clubs (Berkeley Square Speakers, Earlybird Speakers and Grosvenor Square Speakers) the winners were:

First Place Richard Stacey (Berkeley Square Speakers)

Second Place  MutsuyukiTokeshi  (Earlybird Speakers)

Third Place Michelle Cheung  (Earlybird Speakers)

We now look forward to the Area 45 Evaluation Contest to be  hosted by Berkeley Square Speakers at the Concert Artistes Club  20 Bedford Street WC2 on Friday March 30th at 18.15pm. Do come and join us!

Area 6 - International Speech and Evaluation Contest Results.

Last night club contest winners from  Covent Garden Speakers, Imperial College Speakers, London Cardinals, London Corinthians, London Olympians, Phoenix Speakers and Polish Your Polish took part in two tremendous contests with some amazing speeches and evaluations. The eventual winners at Area 6 were:

International Speech Contest:

Evaluation Contest:

The winners go through to the London Division B Finals on Saturday 21 April.  Reserve your seat for the big event

There are London Toastmasters Area International Speech and Evaluation Contests every night this week, including Friday!!  For some you need to register in advance so pick your contests now and register if necessary. The last of the Area contests is the following week on 3 April. Attend, learn, enjoy.

Area 33 Contests - Thursday 29 March

You are warmly invited to attend the Area 33 International Speech and Evaluation contests on Thursday, 29 March 2012.  Bank Speakers are the Host Club and have a class venue.

What: Area 33 is holding its contests!

Why:You will see and hear the winners from 1^st London, Cass Business School, MLP Speakers at Ernst & Young, Broadgate Speakers, St Paul’s Speakers and, of course, Bank Speakers.  You may also pick up a pointer or two and have some fun!

When: Thursday, 29 March 2012 – 6.30 for a prompt 7pm start. Contests will be held from 7 – 9pm.

How: By contacting Andrew Pratt to let him know you are coming and by getting yourself over to the City in good time.  If you are not a member of Area 33, there is a charge of £6 for food and drink.

Imperial College Speakers officially joins the Toastmasters family

"On 1st March, amidst frantic running around half an hour before the start of our International Speech and Evaluation contests that evening, Imperial College Speakers chartered!! Our club contest night was a great success, with many thanks to our judges and helpers. We will be proudly represented by Arun Shivalingam at the Area 6 contest.

We meet every Thursday, with a Toastmasters meeting every fortnight, with an interactive workshop on the alternate weeks. Our workshop evenings are an excellent opportunity to practise extended speaking (~1 hr) so please get in touch if you are interested in giving a workshop.
