From Andy Pape
Remember when you joined toastmasters? Having the desire to take that big step in being able to confidently and eloquently speak in-front of a group of peers? And now that you are on the path to achieving that, what is next for you?
How about speaking to real audiences on real topics, out there in the real world? Society Speakers has created a mentoring programme to help you to do just that - wherever you are on your Toastmaster journey. The ‘Society Speaker’ programme will provide resources to guide you through the following steps…
Choosing a charity, cause or topic you feel passionately about
- Helping you research and prepare a speech or presentation for that cause
- Practice of that speech at the Society Speakers club with feedback
- Delivery of the speech (improved using feedback) again at another Toastmasters club with more feedback
- Finding opportunities for the ‘real life’ delivery of that speech to an audience for the benefit of that charity or cause
It is sometimes too easy to get comfortable speaking within the Toastmasters environment – extra confidence and skills can be developed when we take the next step into the outside world. Are you ready to put the 'public' into your public speaking?
Society Speakers meet 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm at the beautiful, Fitzrovia Community Centre only a few minutes from Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street Tubes.
