From Jakub Pawlowski, Division B Governor 2012-13
We were all delighted when Paul Walsh, London's Division Governor for 2011-12 received the Division Governor of the Year award at the conference in Cork last month.
A Division Governor has the responsibility of managing a team of leaders supporting and motivating them while ensuring that the vision and goals of the Division are met. During 2011-12 Paul exceeded all expectations and goals as well as ensuring the future of the Division was carefully and thoroughly planned for.
London Division B topped the district rankings with 95.4% clubs having 20+ members, 84.62% clubs reaching “Distinguished” status (in the Distinguished Club Program) and 4 new clubs chartering, more than in any other division in UK & Ireland District 71. He managed a very experienced team allowing them to further grow and develop and ensured that educational and leadership opportunities were provided to all who wanted to partake.
Paul has great insight and vision to the strategic overview of the Division as well as the District. He was the last person to lead all 40+ London Clubs prior the splitting into 3 divisions (B, K and L). He was very conscientious and dedicated in ensuring that the realignment of the division was as painless as possible. Directing the team, they worked diligently, strategically, and effectively to bring about a great beginning for the London divisions to what will one day potentially be a District of its own. A great leader and one to watch for the future.
Thank you Paul for all your hard work. It is greatly appreciated - as is your continued support for clubs in Greater London.
