It's the Twin Tall Tales contest this Thursday!

Excitement is building as the day of London Corinthians’ inaugural twin tall tale contest approaches.  15 or so speakers are expected to give it a bash, including members, alumni and stellar guests. 

The 1^st round is a prepared 5 minute tale, from which five winners will go through to a 3 minute impromptu tale in the 2^nd round.  It’s innovative, it’s intriguing, it’s inspiring.  And it’s free!  Come along on Thursday 30January, 7:15 for 7:30pm, Cadogan Hotel, 75 Sloane Street, London SW1X 9SG and see for yourself...!

The good news is that humorous speech techniques can be learnt.And we are offering a master class on Wednesday 29 January, where you can learn from the funniest speakers in the country.

Excalibur International Speech & Evaluation Contests...With a taste of the Modified Toastmasters Education Program

Apart from the excitement of seeing our members step up to the mark and deliver in the contests, we will have the pleasure of a 10 minute briefing from Immediate Past District 71 Governor, Toastmasters Ambassador and keen Excaliburger Freddie Daniells.

Freddie will be explaining to us some of the modifications that are about to come into effect in the Toastmasters Education Program.

As you ponder your New Year resolutions and set your goals in place for 2014, I’d like to plant a seed in your mind about opportunities to further develop yourself on your Toastmasters journey and to give back to the organisation as well.

In particular, I’m on the lookout for qualified accountants who would be interested in being either District Treasurer or on the Audit Committee for the Toastmasters year 2014-15 (for the new District 91 – Southern UK).

Calling guests and new members! On Wednesday 15th January Society Speakers are holding an introductory meeting especially for guests and new members. This will include a workshop on improving your speaking - from how to deal with nerves, to what to do with your hands - plus a standard Toastmasters meeting so you can see what we're all about.
