David Jones will be holding his Table Topics workshop at Phoenix Speakers on Thursday 12 June 2014, 7pm. The workshop costs £5 and is open to members from other Toastmasters clubs.

David Jones has won the UK & Ireland's Table Topics contest an incredible five times and this is a brilliant opportunity to improve your technique and confidence when impromptu speaking and to learn from the master of Table Topics.

The workshop will be held at the Star Tavern pub, Belgravia. The Star Tavern is about 10 mins from either Victoria or Knightsbridge tube station. Star Tavern, 6 Belgrave Mews West, SW1X 8HT.

London Olympians changes venue – Grange Strathmore Hotel

Last week London Olympians waved goodbye to Myhotel Chelsea with our last meeting at their venue after three amazing years. We are now thrilled to announce the Grange Strathmore Hotel as the new venue for our meetings. Conveniently located near Gloucester and South Kensington tube stations (41 Queen's Gate Gardens, SW7 5NB), we are excited to continue our meetings in true London Olympians style!
 
Our first meeting there, Thursday 29 May 2014 7pm, will be a celebration of the club’s illustrious past and the start at the new venue with one of its founders, Edward Till, DTM, as Toastmaster of the evening, with a packed agenda of speeches, including a no. 10, and special Table Topics.
 
The following week, Thursday 05June 2014 7pm, our very own David Jones will give his world famous workshop about Table Topics. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from the five times UK & Ireland Table Topics winner!

Freddie Daniells, past Toastmaster District 71 Governor, is an enthusiastic and experienced Toastmaster and will join us to deliver his famous 90 min workshop "The Art of Effective Evaluation"

This workshop is very useful for both new speakers who will gain insights into the evaluation process and for more experienced speakers who will gain the benefit of improving on their skills. The capability to give effective and constructive evaluation feedbacks is very useful not only in the Toastmaster contest, but in all aspects of your personal and professional life: with your boss, your team, but also your spouse or your children.

Excalibur Advanced Speakers is hosting a Public Speaking Jamboree open to all on Sunday 18 May 2014 at Speakers Corner Hyde Park ( Marble Arch end.)

Weather predictions vary from 20 to 22 degrees so why not join us with your summer picnic in hand.

We will meet at 11.00 for 11.15 start. If you would like to give a prepared speech please bring your manual for Evaluation and Sign Off to complete your awards and gain those valuable DCP points for your club. You will need to give me your project number and speech title before the event begins. I will be there pen in hand to take the details at 11.00.

We will have plenty of table topics with on the spot evaluations. Lots of opportunities to join in.

If you didn't make it to Ireland last weekend i am thrilled to anounce that you can hear Chris Boden UK & Ireland International Speech Champion deliver his speech ' The Throw' at Excalibur Advanced Speakers regular meeting on Wednesday May 14 19.00 for 19.15 start, Fitzrovia Community Centre, Foley Street W1.

Chris is a member of Maidenhead Speakers. I first met him when he was President of Holborn Speakers and he is a Past Member of Excalibur. I am really delighted to hear of his success.
