Area 34 International Speech and Evaluation Contests - results

From David Marks, Area 34 Governor

Area 34 held their contest evening on 19 March at the London Underground offices at St James Park.

The meeting was opened by Area Governor, David Marks, who also chaired the International Speech contest.

The Area council elected Jay Surti to be the Area Director from 1 July 2015. Jay later chaired the Evaluation contest.

Chief Judge was Liz Hobbs of Tube Talk.  Thank you to our mystery speaker Luca di Carlo, of Broadgate Speakers who gave a speech entitled "The Postman" calling us to to action - "Innovation, Determination, the Future".

The winners were:

International Speech Contest

1st         Janet Tarasofsky, Bloomsbury Speakers

2nd       Talia Ajibade, Tube Talk

3rd         Kaveh Pourvand, Clerkenwell Speakers

Evaluation Contest

1st          Kaveh Pourvand, Clerkenwell Speakers

2nd         Ellie Rudolph, Holborn Speakers

3rd          Michael Foster, Society Speakers.

The first placed winners will represent Area 34 at the Division L contests on 28 March.
