Last week Area 29 celebrated the best of their achievements so far this year with a well supported and fun evening at their Humorous Speech Contest and Table Topics Contest.
Huge thanks go to our Assistant Area Director, Russell Searle for taking the lead in organising the event and providing an enthusiastic warm-up. Thanks too go to our Chairs, Michael Ciavola from Trojans Speakers and Al Johnson from Riverside Communicators who kept everything topical by using the World Cup Rugby theme throughout the post-contest Topics sessions.
The Winners were:
Humorous Speech Contest:
1st place: Floyd Toussaint Kaye - The Toast Rack
2nd place: Tom Ustunel - Riverside Communicators
3rd place: Patrick Harrigan - London Athenians
Table Topics Contest:
1st place; Jonathan McWilliams - West London Speakers
2nd place: Gagan Singh - London Athenians
3rd place: Sumit Sharma - The Toast Rack
As Jonathan cannot make the date of the Division B contests Gagan will represent Area 29 on 3 October.
