From Holborn Speakers
Toastmasters is a wonderful organisation. It teaches you how to write a good speech and how to give effective feedback. But it doesn’t teach you how to be funny. And yet humour is one of the greatest assets a speaker can have. Most professional speakers will tell you “if you ain’t funny, you better get funny”. But if you ain’t funny, don’t worry, because the ability to make an audience laugh is a learnt skill. In this workshop you will learn some of the writing and performing skills of comedians. The workshop will include how a joke works, how to perform funny material so you don’t kill it, and tips on writing for the Humorous Speech contest.
